Management Systems

Borscheid + Wenig runs a proactive management system that covers the important issues of quality, the environment and energy and also encourages our employees and all of our suppliers to actively support us in our efforts to achieve our common objectives.

All systems are regularly monitored by an accredited certification agency and subject to continuous development.

Quality management – What we mean by it
Quality is a very important factor at our company that permeates everything we do and is reflected in our premium products.

We operate in compliance with the most common quality standards and are certified accordingly by an accredited external agency.

Quality policy – Our principles

  • To keep our customers satisfied
  • To fulfil customer expectations
  • To provide high-quality products and services
  • To avoid making mistakes
  • To detect errors and faults as early as possible
  • To make continuous improvements
  • To manufacture efficiently
  • To avoid unnecessary costs
  • Every member of staff is responsible for ensuring quality
  • Everyone can profit from good quality
  • Every member of staff should ask questions if they don’t know or are unsure of something
  • Happy workers = good quality

Here’s a selection of the instruments we deploy:

  • State-of-the-art, 3D coordinate measurement systems
  • Modern measurement instruments and testing devices
  • CAQ software for quality assurance
  • Statistical methods for process control
  • Training programmes for employees and suppliers
  • Latest project methods such as FMEA, APQP, ISIR, etc.

Environmental management – What we mean by it
The conservation of natural resources, protection of the environment and maintenance of the quality of life for our own and future generations play a very big part in everything we do.

Environmental policy slogans:

  • Environmental protection concerns everyone “so that the future remains liveable”
  • Conservation of resources (e.g. energy, water, raw materials)
  • Avoidance of environmental pollution (for mankind and nature)
  • Continuous improvement of our environmental performance (e.g. of products and processes)
  • Compliance with laws and regulations (by legislators, customers, etc.)
  • Fulfilment of customer expectations (e.g. reusable packaging systems)
  • Meeting of environmental targets (e.g. reduction of energy consumption)

We participate in the Bavarian pact for the environment
To further illustrate our commitment to protect the environment, we have agreed to participate in the forward-looking Bavarian pact for the environment, “Umweltpakt Bayern”. This pact sees the Bavarian state government and Bavarian business join forces in voluntary activities aimed at promoting the common goal of achieving “environmentally compatible economic growth”.

“Wirtschaft pro Klima” – Borscheid + Wenig is taking part
The goal of those taking part in the “Wirtschaft pro Klima” (Business pro Climate) initiative is to highlight and promote the commitment shown by German business to environmental protection.

Those companies that endorse “Wirtschaft pro Klima” demonstrate the responsibility they feel to help mitigate climate change. And this responsibility can even be quantified: a database is used to map the scope of the environmental protection measures taken by the participating companies and the amount by which they reduce their carbon emissions as a result.

In particular, such environmental protection measures include actions that increase energy efficiency and thereby cut energy consumption.

Energy management and sustainability – What we mean by it
At Borscheid + Wenig GmbH, the efficient use of energy and the reduction of energy consumption are important components of our corporate policy.

We are well aware of the fact that the energy balance is affected by internal and external processes.

Borscheid + Wenig GmbH sees it as its responsibility and duty to reduce its consumption of the resource known as “energy” to a minimum, within the limits of what is commercially and technically feasible and with the aid of well-conceived processes and workflows. This responsible management and use of energy is based on systematic measurement and evaluation of the important energy aspects at the company. This is then used to derive energy targets and energy programmes and to monitor and verify these on the basis of measurable characteristics.

Out of a joint responsibility toward mankind and the environment, we have made it our goal to set up an efficient and cost-effective production system that constantly strives to improve energy performance on the one hand and the efficient consumption of energy on the other. We always implement this taking into account the technically and organisationally feasible possibilities.

For Borscheid + Wenig, it’s a matter of course that we comply with the legal and official regulations, with other energy-related interests and our own requirements regarding energy consumption and, if possible, exceed them.

Continuous improvement in energy performance is a key factor for Borscheid + Wenig when it comes to achieving profitable production and a basic prerequisite for the efficient use of energy and the reduction of energy consumption.

The framework needed to achieve this comprises a functional energy management system and state-of-the-art machinery, systems and technologies.

What’s more, each and every member of staff at Borscheid + Wenig is actively involved in the energy management system. Events, information sessions and training courses encourage all of our employees to be more energy-aware, both at work and in their own life.

The company has declared the integration of long-term economic, environmental and social aspects into our corporate strategy, while maintaining full competitiveness, to be a key responsibility of the company management.

This can only be achieved if we all work together.

Energy policy slogans:

  • Energy-saving concerns everyone (everyone is involved)
  • Conservation of resources (e.g. electricity, gas)
  • Continuous improvement of our energy performance (energy efficiency)
  • Efficient manufacturing (no waste)
  • Set and fulfil energy targets (e.g. to reduce energy consumption)
  • Compliance with laws and regulations (by legislators, customers, etc.)
  • Use of modern technologies (machines, systems, equipment)

Occupational safety and health – what it means to us

Our starting point:
People are our most important resource

Our principle:
“Nothing we do is worth endangering yourself or other people for”

Our clearly defined safety and health objectives are reflected in particular in our focus on preventing accidents and occupational illnesses, and in guaranteeing the safety and health of our employees and of third parties.
